Write what you know so they say but they never tell you how to write when words don't express what you need o say within a review. The 5-star Banners are being carried for this show. The Newsies cast now can stop the world with this show.
This was by far the most striking show I have ever seen. The whole Newsies team has worked so hard to make everything work and the bottom line is that every second was worth it. Every member had a moment to shine and they all took them. Every single second they were on that stage they gave everything they had to give the audience the best experience they could.
There were so many details within the show, the papers that came into the audience were all about the newsies set out like a newspaper. The paper had been thorough and set out to make the experience better.
The costumes were incredible keeping in with the story of 1899 New York and with their ranks on the ladder, the people who were rich had fancy well put together hair, makeup and costumes whilst the newsies have dirt on their faces and less layered clothing.
Now we have reached the king of New York, the characters. Where do I even start? Everyone of that cast played Romeo, Albert, Cruthie, Jo Jo, and all the other Newsies of New York along with the papers. Were all incredible triple threats. Then their is the genius Davey who knew all the right emotions to portray at the right time to get the audience and the other characters. His little brother Les was adorable and savage. Katherine, wow, no words could possibly be written because she is incredible and that egotistic Jack Kelly will have a lasting effect on anyone who watches it because everything was perfect.
All there is for me to say is go grab a newspaper now the strike is over.
